The principles of our work

We carry out our projects in close cooperation with local people. Our local partner organisations are indispensable to our work. They know the living conditions of the local people best and initiate projects with a lasting impact. As an equal partner, YOOW e.V. contributes its expertise, advises on the implementation of projects, and provides financial support.

Your donation will be put to good use!
We use our funds efficiently. We work on a voluntary basis and keep administrative costs as low as possible.

Through our volunteer work, we aim to bring about positive and lasting change in the living conditions of individuals and their families. Our project work is designed for sustainability, ensuring that the measures taken continue to have a long-term impact even after the project has ended. For example, during the construction of the Chiuno Cultural Center in Malawi, we are training a local team in the operation of the facilities to ensure that the infrastructure can be used independently and sustainably beyond the duration of the project.

Our work is geared toward the needs of local people and empowers them to take responsibility for their own lives. For example, our current project in Malawi was developed in response to the wishes and interests of the local people. The facilities and buildings constructed belong to a local organisation, and the school that was built is independently operated, insured, and maintained by the state and the school board. The goal is to create sustainable structures that enable self-determined action in the long term.
