Daniel builds us everything we need. But the working conditions were frightening before we equipped him with new cables, plugs and couplings: barefoot between bare wires and with heavy machinery. He also has no drills, so he burns the holes into the steel frames with a welder. Far and wide there are only simple 5mm and 10mm drills, of lousy quality. The wood, stone and steel drills commonly used in our country are not available in Malawi – at least not in Kasungu.
